25% of the country is protected by national parks which are estimated to support approximately 20% of Africa's mammal population playing host to one of the most spectacular wildlife experiences, the wildebeest migration! With over 1,130 bird species and more being discovered annually, Tanzania also has the second largest diversity of bird species recorded (after DRC).

Tourism infrastructure in Tanzania is ahead of most African nations with good roads, an excellent and wide variety of accommdoation from mobile tented camps to luxury lodges. The most common and most dramatic itinerary takes approximately 14 days and takes in such highlights as the savanna game of the Serengeti National Park, the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater and the pristine beaches of Zanzibar Island...Aside from this there are a number of other rarely visited but equally stunning wildlife wilderness destinations such as Katavi National Park and the Mahale Mountains which are home to habituated chimpanzees.
